Swim Night - 2010

A Troop Swim Night is planned for Friday, March 19, 6:45pm-8:30pm, at the Westwood High School Pool, Nahatan St, Westwood.   Despite earlier announcements to the contrary, there will be no charge for this activity!  Repeat, No Charge!

Unlike last year, we will have at least two lanes reserved for our exclusive use.  There is the possibility that we may be the only ones there, so we may end up with the entire pool.

bulletAll scouts will be (re)certified with passing the official BSA Swim Test.  (See pages 154-159 in your Boy Scout Handbook.)  This will be required in order to participate in canoe usage at the May Canoe Trip to Devil's Foot Island.
bulletIt also will provide an opportunity for scouts to receive instruction for learning the basic swimming strokes needed to pass their Second or First Class swimming requirement.
bulletWe will also review all of the various water rescues needed for Second and First Class.
bulletThere will be an open swim.

Be at the Pool lobby before 6:45pm.  We have access to the pool from 7:00 to 8:30, but arriving early gives us the time to get changed and be ready by 7:00pm.

>> Bring your own towel and swimsuit.

Please be aware that you must arrange for your own transportation.  There will be no troop-organized carpooling from the UCC.

Directions:

Take Rte 109 East from Medfield center, towards Westwood, for about 5 miles.
Turn right onto Nahatan St, in Westwood.
Follow Nahatan St for 1/2 mile, passing alongside  the Westwood High School complex.
Turn into the very last entrance to the High School complex.  This will appear to go around the back of the building, but park in front, near the glass doors leading to the pool lobby..
We will assemble in the lobby  and then head down to the locker room.
